Granita is a 4-year-old, yellow lab/golden retriever mix who is trained as a working facility dog. Canine Companions for Independence breeds, raises, and trains assistance dogs before matching them and placing them in schools such as ours. Granita has been trained in over 40 commands and provides emotional support as well as direct therapy assistance throughout the school. She loves sunbathing and playing chase, and absolutely loves playing in whatever water she can find.  She likes having her back scratched by the students at William's and can frequently be found underneath their desks and tables.
